Methinks we should start asking the question about how the series will end in general, I think fairies should be able to come back to the surface somehow, since they love it so much.
They're actually allowed to for vacations and such, but if you mean coming back permanently... I find it hard to imagine Mud Men and Maids happily letting them back. Or accepting they exist.
