Well Opal was so totally out of her character in book 6. She had made an absolute fool out of me. When I say that like I mean I thought she would be her normal phsyco but was on a completely new phsyco this time.

eoin explains this in a earlier book, pixes will do practially anything to get the job done. her job was get the lemur and become all powerful. so she became absorbed with it that she became extremely frustrated and lost her senses. i think this sums it up. but i think after the next book we need a new villain. possibly some human agency like the CIA or something.

I love Opal as a villain (though I did passionately hate her for a long time when I read she killed Julius). Eoin has really done a great job constructing her character, but I think she should banish/die/get whipped away in time etc. in the next book, because she has played a main role in book 2,4 and now 6. I would like to see another new villain that would hang around for a while causing some trouble. (Oh my gosh!!! lol I would love to see Ark Sool as a villain - stuck-up, annoying and pathetic)

Yeah, that SUCKED! She's probably my favourite evil villain, but she's getting old! I'd like to see Turnball Root! Sool would work too though...OH! If they killed the Opal from the past, maybe Root would never have DIED!

I love Opal too! She is really cool and everything. Its just the way she bosses Merve and Scant around that makes me laugh. I really want opal to bust her future self out. Who knows what will happen then? They will probably kill Artemis, Holly and Foaly first. I also like the way Opal took over Angelene's body to trick Artemis, it was mean, but really cool! Opal is one of my favourite characters and I hope both of the Opals come back in the next book!

Unlike I think everybody on here, when Opal made her appearance I mentally went 'no, not her again'. When she first made an appearance in AI, she was brilliant (and original, I mean how many other pretty/crazy/genius villans do you know?) but by the time you had her for the 3rd book you basically knew everything you needed, and she became too predictable. And then with the news at the end you'll be seeing her (well, her's') for another book it was just too much.
