The old one was kind a' strange I know kinds freaky. But I still like him. Just the way he bosses Butler and Juliet around in the first one makes me laugh alot |

I like the new 'version' of Artemis better. His plans in the first one of course are pure genius but just overall I think the stories in the later books have a different feel to them which I just seem to like better.
I didn't find having an evil character a bit weird. I thought it was a great way to attract readers to continue reading the books but then in the end realizing that Artemis isn't such a bad person after all.
Hear, hear! I agree! I kind of liked the "evil" Artemis better... He just seems too human now and nearly everyone's jumping to conclusions (Ahem. *Cough, cough*) about relationships... |

That would be the ideal compromise, I'm slightly appalled at how ruthless the ten year old Artemis was, but the compassionate one, is too... Un-Artemis-like?

True, he's a criminal mastermind. Notice "criminal". He still should be able to show some empathy though and not be a total solid block of ice.

I rather liked the original, but somehow I think it would be difficult to write a story about an emotionless criminal all the time. This is why I support having 10-year old Arty make a return, it would be like having the old Arty and the new Arty in the same series.

Well said. The emotionless criminal would be rather hard to make humorous scenes. In the middle of a funny part would be a scathing comment from the block of ice. |
