I did not like evil Artemis. He was so superficial, as Matt said. Not to mention he was mean too, oh my god, what a bratt! However, evil Aertemis had that well..evil touch to him that I like so much. I'd love to get with him and chat about taking over the world..Hehe.
Nice Artemis is well..nice! So much less mean and less evil and somewhat less superficial.

I like the evil Artemis and the good Artemis in different ways so I don't know which one I'd choose. The evil one was what made the books different from others. He was crafty and wouldn't stop at much to get what he wanted. It was cute to see the caring personality under though, when he was trying to take care of Angeline. The good one is more attaching and more psychologically interesting but kind of loses a bit of originality. It's also frustrating to know that his plans might start to be compromised if he gets too attached.

I don't know its kind of close. I guess that if I did have to choose, I would choose the new one. Because he seems more mature. The evil Artemis was very entertaining though.

But he's still very much entertaining! He still goes through crazy adventures (heck, maybe even crazier, time-travel? magic? demons?). I like the new Artemis better, because now was sort of becoming a mentor to Minerva in TLC. AND... just because he has a conscience now doesn't mean he still can't be evil. Evil people can't really be Evil+Good Good people can be Good+Evil

Evil!Evil!Evil! 100%. That's what lent the uniqueness to the series.

I loved the evil Artemis! He was so cute! xD
The thing is, he wasn't entirely pure evil though. I think he was more of a mislead little kid---after all, his family background isn't exactly the best example to look up to.
**Spoilers Below**
I mean, in the first book, he showed some hesitation before taking Holly...and then he sort of regretted lying to her (about the three days, drip thing, etc). He was just greedy, and in desperate need on intellectual stimulation...

Evil. Most stories make you like the "good guys", this story seems to make most people like the "bad guys" too.

I wouldn't go as far as to say "like." I found him really interesting in the first book, and I liked how he was the main protagonist AND the villain. IT was an interesting take on things, but I wouldn't say I liked him. I DID, however, start to like him in TAI.

I slightly disagree with you Matt even though this completely based on our own opinions about a character. I remember reading the first few books and I felt attached to Artemis as an evil character (even though I like him better as a nice one). It almost reminded me of myself only I'm of course not evil like him but just the whole concept reminded me of something about myself. (Hopefully that made some kind of sense.)

I liked "evil" Artemis, as he wasn't exactly evil, just... bad. And illegal-ish. If he becomes sickenly good, I think I will first have a technicolour yawn (barf for all you people unfamiliar with hurling synonyms) and then write a fanfiction in which he decides NOT to be so good. I mean, who wants AF stories to turn into another one of those good people who save the day and celebrate kind of books? There are too many.

hopfully it won't come to artemis being completely good. If he were like that it would take all the fun all the excitement out of the story + Arty wouldn't get in trouble which is always fun. If arty was good then there would be no story.

ARTEMIS FOWL! and it was the ONLY i've come across to that DOESN"T HAVE A LOVE STORY!!!! that was soo good.. and I LOVE BAD GUYS! they are way coloer compare to the hero one.. lame!
