Yeah, the hints point you towards the different pages on the sites where the letters are! So using a bit of logic, a dictionary, and freetranslation.com, you should be able to find them! Smiley

Do you want to hear something funny?  I was sitting at my computer for 6 hours, using pencils, paper, pens, dictionaries, and all 5 Artemis Fowl Books, (The last of which may or may not help, I can't tell, it would spoil the fun) and I finally figured out the answer, (Which I won't tell anyone, so don't ask) and as I was going to enter the answer I realized the competition is only open in the UK and Ireland.  I live in the U.S. so it is kind of a bummer for me(Those weren't the actual words I said when I found out by the way, but I wanted to make it PG).  So good luck to all of you that can enter, I have to wait till August, Yea me.

Alterius, I winced when I read your story. I'm really sorry you can't enter. We've discussed elsewhere the reasons why, it's all to do with publishing rights and territories and that kind of stuff. Essentially it's outside of our control. However you can feel proud in the fact that you have displayed an "Artemis level" of intelligence in working this out. I hope you will stick around to guide some of the other members.

I'm really impressed with the people who have worked it out already, well done!

Cool! Well done, Alterius! Smiley

Just wondering, did Eoin have any input with this contest? The contest news was put up by eoin, which I'm guessing is the great man's username on the site, but yes...

Also, boo for Hyperion! Seriously!! Do they just not want to be generous to the lovely US Fowl fans and let them enjoy a good contest? Very Jon Spiro... >_>
*just wants a Hyperion competition so she can do more puzzles! Cool* But still, it's unfair. Sad

The competition format was devised by me with half of the clues created by Matt of AFC. We had  good fun putting it together. We then ran it by Eoin and Adele, the nice lady from Puffin that is providing the prizes.

The competition news was actually put up by me but for some reason it comes up under Eoin's username.

We'll see if we can create more of these in the future!  Smiley

Oh cool! Well that explains it. You and Matt are pretty clever for coming up with the clues. Who came up with the "Six years to the day. An important development in computational complexity theory. Polynomial time." clue? It's very Artemis-ish (aka Long Words! @_@). XD

LOL! I can't agree with that, seeing as I think it was one of Matt's clues that bamboozled me. Tongue

That's what I was wondering. Also, can someone recommend the easiest question to tackle first (if you can call any of them easy!)

I think if you read the competition instructions again carefully you'll realise which sites we are talking about.

It's one single word, and make sure you have all the letters before submitting!

GOOD ADVICE!!

I personally tackled the "Memories, a young boy in a hat. The writing is on the wall, a symbol of the future" one first.
