Artemis Fowl 8 in 8

Discussion about the video posted on the main page of eoincolfer.com.
I would’ve loved to do that xD (not post the video, but participate in the 8-in-8). Seems like a bundle of fun, with a touch of avant garde. Oh yes, brilliant cover-up. Reminds me of the time I added that extra line in a school play, per the principal’s request.

Consistence/ congruity

So After looking at the series as a whole there seems to be a lot of missing pieces through out the books.

For example, in The Lost Colony we learn about Minerva and end with the closing chapter feeling like Minerva and Artemis will become good friends or atleast that we will be seeing more of her. However we do not see her again.

Another example is of course the controversial Holly Artemis relationship, we see it come. In the Atlantis Complex Holly tells Artemis they need to talk about their relationship then we never see or hear what comes of it. And in the next book it they act like the previous book barely happened.
I know Obviously he wants to keep us guessing about A/H to a certain point but depending on the book it seems their relationship changes.

There are plenty more examples of plots/ things lost between books but i think you get the point. The two above seem to bother me the most.

I was wondering what people think about the inconsistenty and why they think it is there? Is is purposefully done or did Mr. Colfer change his mind between books?

Rate Artemis Fowl - Best to Worst

So how would you rate the Artemis Fowl books if you were to rate them in order from best to worst? I haven’t read the last two books yet so I won’t include them, but when I will read them, i’ll edit this post and include them too.

So mine will have to be:

1. The Eternity Code
2. Artemis Fowl
3. The Opal Deception
4. The Time Paradox
5. The Lost Colony
6. The Arctic Incident

I enjoyed all of the books though, it’s not that I just liked TEC, and AF, and then I hated TLC, and TAI. I really like all of them, just to make that clear.

so. thought that i HAD to do this for several reasons:
1- bored
2- just thought i should :D i mean Artemis has got to find someone at some point, so who better to ask than his fans who are just looking out for him?
so really do i need to explain? unless u didnt get the abbreviations then yeah. so here i go:
holly+ arty or arty + minerva?
holly + trouble kelp a good idea?

honestly, i dont know about arty.i mean minerva and him are such a good match! they understand each other 100%! the joke, cute! but holly… they held hands in their underwear for cyring out loud! so yeah im sorta going to option 1.
as for holly. if she is gonna be with arty no need for trouble! but if not, she could marry a swear toad but not trouble! my opinion. what was written in the books about the first two dates were really funny, but embarrassing to holly of course. so nah! XD

Character Songs?

So, any songs that describe the characters?
(Credit goes to ShapeShifter89 for making the topic in the other site. I think someone also made it before her, but I couldn’t find it.)
Every time I hear “Mastermind” by MSI I think of Artemis, but I think it might be a bit violent for him (and don’t look it up unless you’re over the age of 13). Actually, it might work better for Opal….

Artemis’ Middle Name?

This was originally started by Markus at the other site, but I loved the topic and figured I’d move it here in case we came up with some new ideas.
I’m still all for Artemis Alexander Fowl. I also looked up Irish boy names and found this:
Conan: An old name from con “a hound” or “swift-footed warrior” and in the form conan means “little warrior.”
I think it’s fitting, but am still not sure if I like the flow of it.
